A community services organization in New York City is seeking a new IPS Employment Specialist to join their team in Queens. In this role, the IPS Employment Specialist will be responsible for supporting individuals with serious mental illness to achieve employment goals through an evidence-based approach.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Setting: Hybrid (Fieldwork 3-4 days, Remote 1-2 days)
Responsibilities:
- Conducting vocational, educational, and work-history assessments
- Identifying client strengths and employment goals
- Developing individualized employment plans
- Supporting rapid job search consistent with IPS principles
- Facilitating job-readiness training and workshops
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of related work experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Employer Outreach expertise
- Solid documentation skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Vocational Rehabilitation certification
- Experience in Vocational Counseling or Job Placement
