A nonprofit services organization in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Accountant to join their growing team as their new Interim VP, Accounting.

About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: Ongoing (possible contract to hire)
- Schedule: Flexible within East Coast hours
- Hours: EST
- Setting: Hybrid or Remote (for the right candidate)
Responsibilities:
- Providing strategic direction over the general ledger, financial reporting, compliance, and treasury functions
- Ensuring integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial information
- Serving as a key advisor to the CFO and executive team on financial risks and opportunities
- Leading and developing a high-performing accounting and finance team
- Participating in advancing the organization's effectiveness and culture goals
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive Accounting experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification
- Experience with Nonprofit Accounting standards and Donor Compliance
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lead and develop teams

- MBA
- Experience managing a Finance staff
