A nonprofit in New York City is actively seeking a new Intake Specialist (CASAC / CASAC-T) to join their growing Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program. In this role, the Intake Specialist (CASAC / CASAC-T) will be responsible for managing referrals, conducting screenings, completing intakes, and ensuring all documentation meets OASAS and program standards.

About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
Responsibilities
- Review incoming referrals and schedule phone screenings
- Conduct intake screenings and assessments to determine program fit
- Complete intake appointments and admit clients into the program
- Complete all intake documentation in NextGen EHR (100% electronic)
- Accurately document demographic, substance use, mental health, legal, and family history
- Work closely with the Admissions & Outreach Manager, who supervises this role
- Defer to the supervisor as needed while exercising sound clinical judgment
- Coordinate with the Benefits team on Medicaid and managed care authorization
- Maintain communication with referral sources and case managers
- Participate in clinical meetings and case conferences as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience in Intakes, Assessments, or Admissions
- Bachelor's Degree
- NYS CASAC‑T and/or CASAC licensures
- Strong organization and time management
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Comfortable managing multiple referrals simultaneously
- Able to work independently within a structured workflow
- High attention to detail and confidentiality
Desired Qualifications:
- SUD and/or Residential Program experience strongly
- Familiarity with OASAS environments and LOCADTR
