A hospital-based psychiatry service in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an Inpatient Attending to provide care for adults on a busy inpatient unit. This role focuses on collaborative clinical management, daily inpatient oversight, and participation in a multidisciplinary care team.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Hours: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
- Setting: Inpatient hospital
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct psychiatric care for adults on an inpatient unit.
- Oversee daily rounds and manage an inpatient caseload.
- Collaborate with social workers, Licensed Creative Arts Therapists, residents, and medical staff.
- Support the care of a diverse adult patient population with acute psychiatric needs.
- Maintain clear documentation and clinical communication within the inpatient team.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency program.
- Board Certification in Psychiatry or board eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Active New York State medical license or full eligibility to obtain one.
- Clinical experience in adult acute care psychiatry.
Desired Skills:
- Prior inpatient psychiatry experience.
- Academic or leadership experience in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Experience working with adult patients with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use psychosis, and depression.
- Familiarity with Sunrise RCM or similar electronic medical record systems.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Russian.
