A healthcare system in New York City is actively seeking a new Human Resources Assistant to provide a variety of administrative and secretarial services for their Human Resources Department in Brooklyn.

About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: 6+ months
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm (35-hour week/ 1-hour unpaid)
- Department: Human Resources
Responsibilities:
- Schedules meetings, secures conference rooms, transportation, and food for HR Senior Staff when necessary
- Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages; communicates effectively with personnel and other departments
- Composes routine correspondence and performs general clerical duties (e.g. photocopying, faxing, etc.)
- Opens and routes incoming mail, and distributes correspondence and other materials to Vice President
- Assists HR Management with coordinating special events (i.e. Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day, Brooklyn Cyclones Ticket Distribution, Children’s Holiday Party, Department Events such as the Holiday Dinner).
- Maintains departmental filing system in conjunction with HR Management
- Keeps inventory of office supplies, places orders on a bi-monthly basis
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year related Administrative experience
- High School Diploma / GED
- Computer savvy
- Microsoft Office proficient (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Solid problem-solving and time management skills
- Customer service-oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- 2+ years of Administrative experience in a Human Resources setting
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
