A nonprofit services organization in New York City is actively seeking a new Onboarding Specialist for a promising opportunity with their Human Resources Department in Queens.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (8-hour shifts with 1-hour unpaid lunch)
- Setting: Hybrid (onsite at least 4 days a week)
Responsibilities:
- Facilitating the onboarding process
- Conducting virtual I-9 verifications
- Running background checks
- Providing on-site onboarding support
- Saving and organizing documents electronically
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of related HR experience
- High School Diploma / GED
- Experience in Background Checks (DOE fingerprinting, etc.)
- Proficient in HRIS systems (e.g., DayForce)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Customer service-oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree
- PHR and/or SPHR
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems
- Proficient in Data Management
