A nonprofit services organization in New York City is actively seeking a Housing Specialist to join their team in Manhattan, focusing on supporting survivors of domestic violence in transition to permanent housing within a domestic violence shelter setting.

About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm or 10am to 6pm
- Setting: Domestic Violence Shelter
Responsibilities:
- Assessing clients’ housing needs and developing individualized housing plans
- Determining eligibility for housing subsidies and public benefits
- Completing and submitting housing applications
- Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation
- Reviewing leases, riders, and housing paperwork with strong attention to detail
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of relevant Housing experience
- High School Diploma / GED or Associate's Degree
- Strong experience with HRA and Housing Application processes
- Experience working with families in Shelter systems
- Knowledge of NYC Housing Market and Subsidy programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and housing data tracking
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
- Highly detail-oriented
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Certifications in Housing Management
- Experience with Landlords, Realty Groups, and Housing Networks
