A leading financial institution in Virginia is seeking a Firewall Security Engineer for a Remote role to support enterprise firewall security operations, policy management, and incident response in cloud and on-premise environments.

About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Standard business
- Setting: Remote
Responsibilities:
- Managing and maintaining enterprise firewall platforms, including Palo Alto and Check Point
- Reviewing and remediating overly permissive firewall rules
- Supporting firewall operations within Microsoft Azure environments
- Assisting with incident response and network security event investigation
- Monitoring firewall activity and security logs using Splunk
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Network Security and/or Firewall Engineering
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent
- Experience with Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls
- Experience with Firewall policies and remediation
- Experience with Azure Firewall Infrastructure
- Familiarity with Splunk for security analysis
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Security certifications, such as Security+, CISSP, or firewall certifications
- Experience with large Enterprise Firewall Infrastructure
- Exposure to Azure Cloud Security best practices
