A specialty engineering and automation services firm is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support electrical and mechanical controls systems for critical infrastructure and industrial clients. This position offers hands-on work in commissioning, maintenance, and system integration within high-performance environments such as data centers, manufacturing, and energy facilities.

About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (weekend work is rare only occurs based on project demands)
- Hours: 6/7am to 2:30/3:30pm (30-minute lunch)
- Setting: Data center & Industrial construction environments
Responsibilities:
- Providing high-level technical service and support to customers, including engineering assistance, system design functionality, and network topology planning
- Collaborating with project engineers, systems engineers, and end users to develop cost-effective SCADA controls designs and system solutions
- Supporting BMS system deployments, PLC code development, validation, and commissioning activities on construction sites
- Validating sequences of operation and alarm points for mechanical and electrical monitoring systems
- Implementing QA procedures to ensure proper quality control throughout projects
- Preparing detailed daily jobsite reports related to system milestones and integration progress
- Completing ISA data sheets for transmitters, sensors, control valves, and other mechanical instrumentation
- Inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning facility monitoring systems efficiently and accurately
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in field service, HVAC, electrical, engineering, or construction (relevant military experience accepted)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
- Proficiency with industrial testing instrumentation, controls validation, and SCADA/PLC software such as:
- Rockwell FactoryTalk
- Tridium
- Schneider Electric PowerLogic/StruxureWare
- Siemens Apogee
- Ignition (Inductive Automation)
- Eaton Networks, JACE Controllers, Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet, Niagara
- Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and general IT networking concepts
- Understanding of SCADA, BMS, PLC systems, and low-voltage control systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics, control diagrams, and building operations plans
- Working knowledge of PLCs, DDCs, HMIs, contactors, relays, drives, and electrical components related to mechanical systems
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with a team-oriented mindset
Desired Skills:
- Degree in an Engineering-related field (Mechanical or Electrical)
- Experience in mission-critical environments (data centers, utilities, etc.)
- Experience supporting commissioning and QA activities in critical facilities
- Familiarity with industrial instrumentation and control hardware
- Strong understanding of safety standards and field compliance practices
- Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced, technically demanding environments
