A community-based mental health program in New York City is seeking a Family Specialist to join its Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team in Queens.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Setting: Field-based and on-site
Responsibilities:
- Providing direct services with a focus on family support
- Maintaining case records
- Conducting group sessions
- Collaborating with families to identify needs and resources
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of relevant work experience
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy
- Ability to pass fingerprinting, background check, and OMH clearance
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Experience in Family Psychoeducation
- NYS Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and/or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Skill in Trauma-informed Care
