A recognized services company in Indiana is seeking an Engineering Operations Electrical Technician for a great opportunity with their Data Center Operations team in LaPorte County. In this role, the Engineering Operations Electrical Technician will be responsible for deploying and connecting rack power systems with a strong focus on safety and precision.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Setting: Hybrid (a few days a week onsite)
Responsibilities:
- Route and connect rack-mounted power cables in accordance with SOPs.
- Plug in and verify electrical connections (no fiber or networking involved).
- Follow strict step-by-step SOPs for rack power installation and verification.
- Work at heights (up to 4 feet) on ladders to access cable routing paths.
- Operate safely within hot environments (typically 80–85°F) and confined spaces.
Qualifications:
- Experience with high voltage/electrical work in industrial or critical environments
- Familiarity with rack power systems, plug-in procedures, and cable management best practices
- Proven ability to work from SOPs and documentation without deviation
- Comfortable working in high-reliability environments, including data centers or critical facilities
- Safety-conscious, professional, and highly reliable
- Physically capable of lifting, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
Desired Skills:
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- Experience working in data centers or mission-critical facilities
- Basic understanding of power distribution within IT infrastructure
