A nonprofit organization in New York City is currently seeking an Employment Specialist to join one of its Reentry-focused programs in Brooklyn.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Setting: Men's Shelter (Reentry Program)
Responsibilities:
- Provide employment counseling, vocational assessments, and job readiness support
- Develop and lead employment workshops and training sessions
- Connect clients with external resources (employment, education, housing, healthcare)
- Conduct intake, assessments, and maintain client documentation (DHS CARES)
- Monitor client progress and assist with benefits and entitlements
- Build relationships with community organizations and employers
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant experience in Employment Services, Case Management, and/or similar field
- High School Diploma / GED
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Desired Skills:
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
