A financial services firm in New York City is actively seeking a new Employee Relations Consultant to join its Human Resources team on a contract basis. 
About the Opportunity:
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: 10 to 12 months
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 8:30am to 5:30pm (40 hour weeks)
  • Setting: Hybrid (At least 3 days a week onsite)
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into complaints of discrimination, harassment, and other workplace issues
  • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, complaints, and workplace conflicts
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions
  • Develop and implement employee relations policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with HR and legal teams to address and resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all employee relations cases and investigations
  • Assist in developing and conducting training sessions for employees and managers on topics related to employee relations, such as anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies
  • Stay up-to-date with current employment laws and regulations to ensure organizational compliance
Qualifications:
  • At least 6 years of experience in Employee Relations, including investigating complaints of discrimination and harassment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, and/or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Employment laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Skills:
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
  • Experience in a consulting role or working with multiple clients
