A services organization in Virginia is seeking a new Emergency Medicine Technician to join their Workplace Health & Safety Department in Chesapeake, providing health and safety support to employees on-site.
About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: 6+ months (possible extension)
- Shift: Days or Nights
- Schedule: Sunday to Wednesday or Tuesday to Friday
- Hours: 7pm to 5:30am
- Setting: Workplace Health & Safety
Responsibilities:
- Providing first aid support and referrals to outside medical providers
- Minimizing the employee’s risk of injury through education and engagement
- Maintaining care records for employees
- Coordinating workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs
- Providing activity logs and end-of-shift reports
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of related work experience
- High School Diploma / GED
- EMT or Paramedic Certification from the Department of Health or NREMT
- Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in Health & Safety settings
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Attention to detail
Desired Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED training
- Experience in Industrial Wellness programs
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and Workers' Compensation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
