A California-based services organization is looking to add an Emergency Medicine Technician (EMT) to join their growing Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team. In this role, the EMT will provide first aid care, health guidance, and injury prevention support in an occupational health setting. This is a high-impact role that involves regular interaction with employees, participation in safety committee meetings, and engagement in weekly case reviews.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Nights
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week
- Hours: 12pm-10:30pm
- Department: Occupational Health
Responsibilities:
- Deliver first aid and refer employees to outside medical providers when needed
- Promote injury prevention through education, awareness, and daily engagement
- Maintain detailed records of care and injury management
- Support the workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs
- Document daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports
- Provide coaching on safe work habits observed on the operations floor
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure sufficient medical supplies
- Participate in CPR/AED/First Aid training and maintain all certifications
- Assist with saliva drug testing protocols
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an ECC-approved provider
- One of the following:
- EMT or Paramedic Certification (State or NREMT)
- 6+ months of recent military medical experience (e.g., Combat Medic, Hospital Corpsman)
- Current Athletic Trainer Certification (BOC or equivalent state cert.)
Desired Skills:
- Certified to teach First Aid, CPR, and AED (AHA or Red Cross)
- Experience in industrial wellness or occupational health programs
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal injury prevention and ergonomic coaching
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and Workers' Compensation processes
- Skilled in digital record-keeping and documentation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
