A California-based services organization is looking to add an Emergency Medicine Technician (EMT) to join their growing Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team. In this role, the EMT will provide first aid care, health guidance, and injury prevention support in an occupational health setting. This is a high-impact role that involves regular interaction with employees, participation in safety committee meetings, and engagement in weekly case reviews.
About the Opportunity:
  • Shift: Nights
  • Schedule: 4 shifts per week
  • Hours: 12pm-10:30pm 
  • Department: Occupational Health
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver first aid and refer employees to outside medical providers when needed
  • Promote injury prevention through education, awareness, and daily engagement
  • Maintain detailed records of care and injury management
  • Support the workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs
  • Document daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports
  • Provide coaching on safe work habits observed on the operations floor
  • Maintain a clean work environment and ensure sufficient medical supplies
  • Participate in CPR/AED/First Aid training and maintain all certifications
  • Assist with saliva drug testing protocols
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an ECC-approved provider
  • One of the following:
  • EMT or Paramedic Certification (State or NREMT)
  • 6+ months of recent military medical experience (e.g., Combat Medic, Hospital Corpsman)
  • Current Athletic Trainer Certification (BOC or equivalent state cert.)
Desired Skills:
  • Certified to teach First Aid, CPR, and AED (AHA or Red Cross)
  • Experience in industrial wellness or occupational health programs
  • Knowledge of musculoskeletal injury prevention and ergonomic coaching
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and Workers' Compensation processes
  • Skilled in digital record-keeping and documentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
