This role is for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner specializing in Emergency Medicine at a healthcare facility in the Lawrence area, focusing on patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency environment.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Overnight and evening coverage
- Schedule: Minimum 4 shifts per month
- Hours: 12-hour shifts
- Setting: Inpatient Emergency Department
Responsibilities:
The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for:
- Performing medical screening exams for acute illnesses or injuries
- Diagnosing and treating a range of conditions
- Initiating and managing treatment plans
- Performing procedures such as suturing and wound care
- Stabilizing patients and assisting in resuscitation
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of emergency medicine experience
- Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program
- Relevant certification (PA-C or NP)
- Licensed in Massachusetts
- Experience with EMR systems
- Ability to perform diagnostic and treatment procedures
- Strong communication skills
- Collaboration with healthcare teams
- Decision-making in high-pressure situations
