Drone Operator
Tandym Group is looking for Drone Operators to support a Fortune 10 Client in Seattle, WA or Phoenix, AZ.
Summary:
The OIC is responsible for morning paperwork, aircraft worthiness checks, and operating the drone in a safe manner. The OIC is the individual that designates the operating area for each location and ensures that missions specifics are being conducted (i.e., clear vs unclear, flight profiles etc.). An OIC should have a clear understanding of mission planning (LAANC, NOTAM, METAR) safety procedures (i.e., egress routes and hazardous altitudes, etc.) and can listen to a peer when they mention concerns. Weather and Airspace are a crucial aspect of this role, so the OIC should have a clear understanding of how to read METARs and TAFs (Weather postings from the FAA.) and must understand how to read airspace maps and use FAA certified applications like Airhub or Aloft to submit their LAANC approvals. Historically, DA2 has seen a higher SIM Pass rate for individuals that are experienced in Remote Controller (RC) flying (FPV racing drones, fixed wings, etc.) or individuals that have manned aviation flying experience.
