Data Scientist 

A top Fortune 50 financial institution is currently seeking a Data Scientist to support the Digital Analytics team’s growing digital data science department. This hybrid opportunity is open to candidates based in Vienna, VA; Winchester, VA; Pensacola, FL; or San Diego, CA. The role focuses on developing and implementing predictive models that enhance customer experience and drive digital engagement across web and mobile platforms.

About the Opportunity:
Work Model: Hybrid 2x a week onsite standard
Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
Setting: Corporate / Digital Data Science Department
Level: Mid-level (3–7 years of experience)

Responsibilities:
The Data Scientist – Digital Analytics will be responsible for:
• Designing, developing, and implementing predictive and machine learning models to enhance digital products and customer experience.
• Partnering with senior data scientists, business leaders, and developers to deliver actionable insights.
• Writing clean, efficient Python and SQL code for data preparation, modeling, and analysis.
• Applying techniques such as logistic regression, random forest, XGBoost, neural networks, NLP, clustering, and forecasting (ARIMA, Prophet).
• Evaluating model performance and communicating results through clear, data-driven storytelling.
• Supporting automation, deployment, and continuous improvement of models and analytics tools.
• Collaborating across Agile teams to contribute to ongoing projects and documentation best practices.

Qualifications:
• 3–7 years of experience in data science, statistics, or data analytics
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, PySpark, or R
• Experience developing and evaluating machine learning models
• Familiarity with cloud and data environments such as Azure, Databricks, AWS, or Hadoop
• Excellent analytical storytelling and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams

Desired Skills:
• Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
• Experience with project management tools (Azure DevOps, JIRA)
• Knowledge of financial services, banking, or digital analytics
• Ability to translate complex technical findings into actionable business insights
