An enterprise technology organization is seeking a Data Architect to help shape a centralized, scalable data ecosystem. This remote role offers the opportunity to lead Microsoft Fabric architecture, real-time and batch data platform design, and enterprise data governance across a complex environment.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture strategy for a centralized data platform built on Microsoft Fabric
- Design lakehouse and warehouse patterns that support curated, scalable, and reusable data assets
- Architect real-time and batch data pipelines across APIs, databases, files, SaaS platforms, and event streams
- Define data modeling, semantic layer, governance, and quality standards for enterprise use cases
- Partner with engineering, security, analytics, and business stakeholders to translate needs into technical roadmaps and solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering and/or data architecture roles with ownership of enterprise-scale data platforms
- Strong experience designing lakehouse and/or warehouse architectures with layered data patterns
- Expertise in SQL and Python and/or PySpark
- Experience architecting data solutions on Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure or equivalent cloud platforms
- Experience designing both real-time and batch pipelines
- Strong communication skills with the ability to document architectures and influence technical direction across teams
Desired Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric capabilities such as OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Factory, Eventstream, Real-Time Analytics, and semantic modeling
- Experience with event streaming and messaging architectures such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Event Hubs
- Knowledge of CI/CD and infrastructure automation tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Terraform, or Bicep
- Experience with observability practices including logging, alerting, SLAs/SLOs, and data quality monitoring
- Background supporting large-scale operations and technology environments
- Experience in media, entertainment, or consumer technology environments
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to create compelling data narratives
