A global commercial real estate services firm is seeking a Data Analyst in Chicago, IL. This role supports utility and sustainability data analysis, reporting, and accuracy across large, complex datasets.

 About the Opportunity:
  • Shift: Day shift
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm
  • Setting: Hybrid (3 days in office)
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, validate, and enter utility invoice data into tracking systems while ensuring billing accuracy and contract compliance
  • Perform data cleansing, normalization, and quality checks across large datasets from multiple sources
  • Support the creation of dashboards, reports, and visualizations for finance, real estate, sustainability, and leadership stakeholders
  • Assist with sustainability data preparation related to energy usage, emissions tracking, and reporting
  • Maintain data integrity and document methodologies, assumptions, and controls
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors or utility providers to resolve data issues and support reporting needs
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, Financial Analyst, or similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Sustainability, or a related field
  • Experience working with utility invoices and utility data
  • Strong financial acumen, including cost analysis, variance analysis, and reconciliation
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and formulas
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Smartsheet, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desired Skills:
  • Experience supporting sustainability, energy management, or ESG reporting initiatives
  • Familiarity with utility tariffs, rate structures, and regulatory concepts
  • Experience with utility or energy management software
  • Exposure to GHG accounting frameworks, including Scope 1, Scope 2, and utility-related Scope 3 emissions
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, executive-ready insights
  • Strong data visualization and storytelling skills
