A leading engineering and technology firm in Columbus, Ohio is currently seeking a Mechanical Critical Facility Technician to join their mission-critical operations team. This individual will play a key role in maintaining and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems supporting high-availability environments such as data centers, hospitals, and manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Operating, maintaining, and repairing complex HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, CRAC/CRAH units, and air handling units
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing minor plumbing systems, including pumps, valves, and piping
- Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems supporting mission-critical environments
- Monitoring and controlling environmental systems through Building Management Systems (BMS) such as Niagara Tridium, Siemens, or Johnson Controls
- Reading and interpreting mechanical, plumbing, and electrical diagrams to perform accurate maintenance and repairs
- Utilizing CMMS software to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and ensure operational reliability
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of related experience, including at least 3 years of experience in a Data Center setting
- High School Diploma / GED
- Journeyman or HVAC certification
- EPA 608 certification
- Experience with chillers greater than 300 tons, boilers, and other significant mechanical systems
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
- Proficiency with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Desired Skills:
- Associate's and/or Technical Degree
- Experience supporting secure or classified environments
- Knowledge of mechanical testing, diagnostics, and safety standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
