A leading engineering and technology firm in Columbus, Ohio is currently seeking an Electrical Critical Facility Technician to join their mission-critical operations team. This individual will play a key role in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems that support high-availability environments, such as data centers and secure facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Installing, operating, and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems in mission-critical environments
- Troubleshooting power systems, including AC/DC circuits, UPS, PDUs, ATS, and standby generators
- Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution and control systems
- Using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, DLROs, and infrared scanners to identify issues
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Collaborating with engineers and facility teams to ensure uptime and system reliability
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of related experience, including at least 3 years of experience in a Data Center role/setting
- High School Diploma / GED
- Journeyman or Master Electrician License
- Strong knowledge of switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, and standby generators
- Proficiency with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EPMS)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under pressure.
