A confidential mission-critical data center operator is currently seeking a Critical Facilities Technician (CFT 2) to support a high-availability data center environment in Manassas, VA. This role is responsible for ensuring all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems operate at peak efficiency in support of mission-critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
- Performing planned preventative maintenance, daily corrective maintenance, and emergency response for electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems
- Serving as the primary technical focal point for facility operations within an assigned data center
- Acting as an expert technical resource reporting to a program manager and coordinating with Onsite Engineering Operations (OEO) and third-party vendors
- Conducting daily facility walk-throughs, documenting power availability, temperature, humidity, alarm status, and operational trends
- Supporting mission-critical infrastructure to maintain greater than 99.999% uptime
- Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, blueprints, floor plans, construction documents, mechanical riser drawings, OEM manuals, job specifications, and MOPs/SOPs
- Assisting CET3/CET4 technicians with advanced procedures and supporting knowledge transfer and training of other technicians
- Performing drills associated with Emergency Operating Procedures
- Operating, isolating, starting, and shutting down critical infrastructure systems including MV/LV switchgear, UPS, generators, batteries, ATS/STS, fuel systems, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, AHUs, DX units, BMS, EPMS, and fire alarm systems
- Navigating BMS and EPMS platforms, interpreting alarms, and performing controlled equipment rotations and shutdowns
- Maintaining maintenance records in compliance with city, state, federal, and EPA regulations
- Interpreting and applying building codes and regulatory requirements related to facility installations
- Identifying materials and parts required for maintenance and repair to support procurement activities
- Utilizing diagnostic tools such as infrared scanning and vibration analysis equipment when applicable
- Applying knowledge of HVAC heating and refrigeration cycles to diagnose and repair system issues
- Applying understanding of power density, HVAC capacity, and cooling and heat load calculations
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience supporting electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment in data centers or critical facilities
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must meet all requirements of CET1
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use administrative and office software systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
- Journeyman Electrician license or Journeyman HVAC license (or equivalent experience)
- OEM factory or manufacturer-specific training
- Experience assisting with CET3/CET4 classified procedures
- Strong diagnostic and analytical troubleshooting skills
