Critical Facilities Engineer – Reno, NV

A data center operations company in Reno, NV is currently seeking multiple Critical Facilities Engineers to join their onsite team. These hands-on roles support the maintenance and reliability of mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems within state-of-the-art data centers, ensuring continuous uptime and operational excellence.

About the Opportunity:
Location: Reno, NV
Setting: Onsite, mission-critical data center environment
Employment Type: Full-time, direct hire

Responsibilities:
The Critical Facilities Engineer will be responsible for:
• Operating, maintaining, and repairing critical data center infrastructure (UPS, PDUs, generators, ATS, HVAC, chillers, CRAH, etc.)
• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
• Creating and maintaining MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs for all critical systems
• Monitoring system performance to ensure 100% uptime and reliability targets
• Coordinating vendor work and ensuring safety procedures are followed
• Responding to emergencies and maintaining a safe, compliant work environment

Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years (5+ preferred) of hands-on experience in data center, industrial, or mission-critical facility maintenance
• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in electrical/mechanical disciplines preferred
• Strong working knowledge of electrical distribution, HVAC systems, and building automation controls
• Ability to read blueprints, single-line diagrams, and schematics
• Experience writing and executing MOPs/SOPs/EOPs
• Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

Desired Skills:
• Background in data center or industrial environments
• Field service or chiller technician experience
• Certifications such as EPA Universal, HVAC, or electrical license a plus
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
