A benefits management company in New York City is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a Coordinator of Benefits / Communication Specialist. In this role, the Coordinator of Benefits / Communication Specialist will play a crucial role in assisting with the coordination of benefits for their members.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 6pm
- Length: 3 months
- Setting: Hybrid (3 days in office; 2 days remote)
Responsibilities:
- Lock COB records to prevent unauthorized changes and inappropriate authorizations
- Create and maintain cases in the system to track COB resolution progress
- Reach out to members to explain the COB process and collect required documentation
- Evaluate collected documents for completeness and appropriateness for COB resolution
- Coordinate with internal teams to send documents to carriers for approval
- Communicate approval decisions to members and unlock records when applicable
- Close cases once COB resolution is complete and assist with COB reimbursement processes
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in an Administrative Support and/or Data Entry role
- High School Diploma /G ED
- Tech-savvy and able to self-support: troubleshoot common application issues without heavy reliance on IT.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Solid problem-solving and time management skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
- Familiarity with Benefits terminology
- Prior experience in HR Contracting, Insurance, or COB processes
- Working knowledge of Salesforce
