A recognized tech services company in Atlanta, Georgia, is actively seeking a new COBOL Developer to support and enhance core banking applications, with a focus on developing, maintaining, and optimizing COBOL-based systems that support critical financial operations.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and implement COBOL programs supporting banking and financial applications
- Analyze, debug, and enhance existing COBOL code to resolve production issues and improve system functionality
- Write, maintain, and optimize JCL scripts to support batch processing and job workflows
- Develop and fine-tune complex SQL queries and DB2 stored procedures to support application logic and reporting needs
- Participate in code reviews, system integration testing, and performance tuning initiatives
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Quality Assurance teams, and other technology partners to deliver reliable solutions
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with COBOL development in a mainframe or banking environment
- Proficiency in JCL for batch processing and job scheduling
- Solid experience writing and optimizing SQL queries, with working knowledge of DB2
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, debug, and enhance legacy applications
- Experience participating in code reviews and structured testing processes
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
