A top data center operator in Ashburn, VA is currently seeking an In-House Chiller Technician/Engineer (HVAC SME focus) . This role is part of a highly skilled facilities team of subject matter experts (SMEs), each trained in specific areas of data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure, ensuring continuous uptime and best-in-class service delivery.

Responsibilities:
The In-House Chiller Technician/Engineer will be responsible for:
• Performing detailed, specialized maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational tasks within HVAC/Chiller systems.
• Independently managing complex maintenance projects, upgrades, and system enhancements.
• Responding to safety incidents and emergencies, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
• Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Creating and maintaining MOPs (Methods of Procedure), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and EOPs (Emergency Operating Procedures).
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years (5+ years preferred) of direct, hands-on experience in a mission-critical facility, specializing in HVAC/Chiller systems.
• Formal training and/or professional licensure in HVAC, Chiller systems, or mechanical engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of maintenance practices for chilled water and condenser water systems, CRAHs, CRACs, humidity controls, leak detection, boilers, and air compressors.
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical system diagrams.
• Strong technical writing skills for creating/updating MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.
• Background check and reliable transportation required.
Desired Skills:
• 5+ years experience in HVAC or mechanical systems within mission-critical data centers.
• Advanced troubleshooting expertise with chillers and industrial-grade HVAC equipment.
