A biotech company in Los Angeles, CA is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new, certified Medical Assistant (MA).

About the Opportunity:
  • Schedule:  3 shifts per week
  • Hours:  12-hour shifts
Responsibilities:
  • Perform phlebotomy activities to draw samples for screening and collection visits
  • Conduct medical history questionnaires and qualify potential donors over the phone and in person to ensure they meet the specific study requirements
  • Gather and input appropriate and accurate information to register donors to become part of the donor network
  • Assist with day-to-day activities and ensure the center operations run smoothly
  • Check in donors upon arrival and ensure they are seated in the proper waiting area
  • Explains policies, procedures, or services to donors using clinical or administrative knowledge, based on scope of practice
  • Prepare patients for apheresis procedures, explaining the process and addressing any questions or concerns
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of procedures, including patient information, procedure details, and outcomes
  • Clean/re-process equipment and supplies based on SOPs
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and place orders as necessary
  • Ensure all critical materials and consumables for each collection are stocked before each appointment
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and/or Certificate of Completion of an accredited MA or similar program
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Authorization to work in the United States 
  • Creative thinker with the ability to identify and solve problems
  • Ability to function well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask under pressure and be highly responsive to patients & team members
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Salesforce, Procurify, and Airspace applications
