A biotech company in Los Angeles, CA is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new, certified Medical Assistant (MA).
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Hours: 12-hour shifts
Responsibilities:
- Perform phlebotomy activities to draw samples for screening and collection visits
- Conduct medical history questionnaires and qualify potential donors over the phone and in person to ensure they meet the specific study requirements
- Gather and input appropriate and accurate information to register donors to become part of the donor network
- Assist with day-to-day activities and ensure the center operations run smoothly
- Check in donors upon arrival and ensure they are seated in the proper waiting area
- Explains policies, procedures, or services to donors using clinical or administrative knowledge, based on scope of practice
- Prepare patients for apheresis procedures, explaining the process and addressing any questions or concerns
- Maintain accurate and complete records of procedures, including patient information, procedure details, and outcomes
- Clean/re-process equipment and supplies based on SOPs
- Maintain inventory of supplies and place orders as necessary
- Ensure all critical materials and consumables for each collection are stocked before each appointment
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and/or Certificate of Completion of an accredited MA or similar program
- Current BLS certification
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Creative thinker with the ability to identify and solve problems
- Ability to function well both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to multitask under pressure and be highly responsive to patients & team members
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Salesforce, Procurify, and Airspace applications
