A nonprofit organization in New York City is seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join their Men's Shelter in Brooklyn as a Case Manager Supervisor. This shelter serves approximately 200 single adult men, many with mental health or substance use challenges. The Case Manager plays a key role in helping clients stabilize, build independence, and transition into permanent housing.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 35 hours/week
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor 5–10 case managers, ensuring consistent service quality
- Review psychosocials, ILPs (Independent Living Plans), and documentation
- Support case managers with complex or high-risk client cases
- Carry a small caseload (2–5 clients) when needed
- Ensure accurate data entry and compliance with DHS and OTDA standards
- Conduct internal file reviews and prepare reports for management
- Provide crisis intervention and coach staff on de-escalation strategies
- Collaborate with clinical, operations, and leadership teams to improve outcomes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience working with homeless or MICA populations preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Willingness to complete First Aid/CPR and Overdose Prevention certification
