A nonprofit services organization is seeking a Career Coach in Staten Island, NY. This role supports participants with work readiness, life skills, and job placement preparation through engaging coaching and facilitation.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 5pm
- Setting: Onsite
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate work readiness, life skills, and financial empowerment training for program participants
- Develop curriculum and individual lesson plans to support participant learning and employment readiness
- Lead in-person and virtual group sessions and motivate participants toward program and employment goals
- Partner with vocational rehabilitation, employment services, outreach, and job development staff to coordinate participant support and referrals
- Track attendance, engagement, and missed appointments accurately and support timely documentation and reporting
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree
- Strong facilitation skills
- Experience in Workforce Development
- Strong public speaking, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong typing and basic computer skills
- Ability to work with confidentiality, professionalism, organization, detail orientation, patience, and sensitivity
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Prior experience leading groups
- Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment
