An established workforce development organization in New York City is actively seeking a new Career Coach to join their team, supporting participants through coaching, training, and job-readiness support to help them progress toward their employment goals.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Days
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 5pm
- Setting: Onsite
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate life skills, work readiness, and financial empowerment training for program participants
- Develop curriculum and individualized lesson plans that support employment preparation
- Lead in-person and virtual group sessions designed to motivate participants and build job readiness
- Coach participants on budgeting, public assistance transition, and self-sufficiency goals
- Coordinate with vocational, employment, outreach, and timekeeping teams to support participant progress and accurate attendance tracking
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of relevant work experience
- Associate's Degree
- Experience in Workforce Development
- Strong facilitation skills
- Computer savvy, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong public speaking, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to be organized, detail-oriented, professional, coachable, and maintain confidentiality
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Prior experience leading groups
- Experience motivating individuals with barriers to employment
- Familiarity with Career Services or Job Development Support
