A professional services organization is seeking a Business Architect for a hybrid role in Reston, VA. This contract opportunity supports the evolution of marketing business architecture, digital platforms, and process design within a collaborative enterprise environment.

About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday (3 days onsite per week)
- Setting: Hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Marketing, Digital, Technology, and Data teams to define and evolve the marketing business architecture, including capabilities, value streams, processes, and information flows.
- Translate marketing strategy, customer experience goals, and business requirements into architectural models, roadmaps, and solution designs.
- Support the definition, design, and governance of marketing platforms and applications, including CMS, martech, analytics, personalization, CRM, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Establish and maintain marketing-specific frameworks, standards, guidelines, procedures, and policies aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
- Collaborate with support, engineering, and implementation teams to ensure architectural alignment throughout delivery while tracking status, risks, dependencies, and scope changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in business architecture, marketing technology, digital transformation, or related disciplines
- Proven experience working in agile and/or scrum environments, partnering with product owners and delivery teams
- Expertise in business process analysis, capability modeling, and requirements definition within a marketing or digital context
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence without direct authority
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, executive-ready insights
Desired Skills:
- Master’s degree
- Experience with ARIS or another enterprise process repository
- Solid understanding of marketing technologies, digital platforms, and data-driven marketing concepts
- Familiarity with content workflows, campaign execution, and digital experience delivery
- Exposure to agile and product-based delivery models in marketing or digital teams
