This position is for a Behavioral Intervention Specialist located in Manhattan. The role involves working with individuals with developmental disabilities across multiple sites in the Bronx.
About the Opportunity:
- In-person, multiple sites
- Shift: Flexible
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, various start times between 7am - 8pm
- Hours: Approximately 37.5 hours per week
- Setting: Group homes
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing functional behavioral assessments and support plans
- Providing individual and group counseling
- Presenting behavioral support plans to the Human Rights Committee
- Training staff in behavior support plan implementation
- Providing referrals for mental health services
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in BIS
- Master's degree in psychology or related field
- BCBA certification (preferred)
- Experience in assessment techniques
- Ability to travel between sites
- Experience in behavior support plan development
- Strong communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Adaptive problem-solving
Desired Skills:
- 5 years of experience with IDD individuals
- Experience with MRDD
- Experience in travel across Manhattan
- Strong interpersonal skills
