We are seeking a Behavioral Intervention Specialist for a position based in Queens. The role requires experience in field work and includes flexible shifts throughout the week. The specialist will support individuals in group homes across multiple sites.
About the Opportunity:
- Hybrid or Remote: Hybrid
- Shift: Flexible, including evenings
- Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time (minimum 10 hours/week)
- Hours: 37.5 hours weekly, flexible schedule
- Setting: Group homes
Responsibilities:
The Behavioral Intervention Specialist will be responsible for:
- Developing functional behavioral assessments and support plans
- Providing individual and group counseling
- Presenting psychotropic medications and restrictive behavior support plans
- Training staff in behavior support plans
- Providing referrals for psychiatric care and evaluations
Qualifications:
- 2+ years BIS experience
- Master’s degree in psychology or related field
- BCBA certification (preferred)
- Experience with IDD individuals
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours
- Mental health expertise
- Strong communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Problem-solving abilities
