A large hospital system in Alabama is currently seeking a contract Biomedical Technician in the Birmingham area.
About the Opportunity:
- On-site or Remote: On-site
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 5pm (CST)
Responsibilities:
- Utilize available service literature and other pertinent resources for completing repairs, PM’s, software/hardware upgrades/enhancements, and other support needs as required by regulatory agencies and device manufacturers
- Monitor rental and other non-hospital-owned devices for compliance with corporate safety policies
- Assist the Clinical Engineering/IT Operations team in effectively supporting and maintaining mission-critical medical/electronic equipment and IT systems and networks.
- Completes all repairs, PMs, and other support activity documentation to comply with the standards of the FDA, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory and accrediting agencies, and to fulfill departmental requirements
- Communicate information regarding the repair status of assigned equipment to the CE Supervisor and appropriate personnel in the using department
- Receive entry-level training and exposure on the repair and maintenance of medical or electronic equipment systems and accessories
- Support hardware to include computers, networks, databases, and other types of IT systems and associated medical or electronic device software.
- Assist with the coordination of integrating supported devices and systems into the hospital's IT systems and networks
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of related work experience
- Associate's Degree
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Solid understanding of the basics of electronics (involvement with electronic systems, knowledge in electronics related to medical equipment, training in electronics, etc.)
