About the Role:
We’re looking for a strong engineer to help build and evolve our backend systems. You will build and scale the core systems that power the Catalyst recruitment platform, operating a multi-tenant SaaS architecture that ensures strict client data isolation, secure APIs, and high-performance data processing.
This role focuses on building the backend services that enable AI-driven candidate matching, recruiter workflows, and large-scale data processing across the platform. You will work closely with frontend/UI engineers, AI engineers, and product partners to deliver scalable systems that power real-time recruiting insights and automation.
We are looking for an engineer who enjoys solving complex systems challenges, building reliable backend services, and working in a fast-moving environment where systems must scale with product growth.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that power the Catalyst recruiting platform
- Develop secure and reliable APIs that support recruiter workflows, AI-driven insights, and high-volume data processing
- Design and maintain a multi-tenant SaaS architecture with strong client data isolation and security controls
- Build systems that efficiently process and serve large volumes of candidate and job data
- Collaborate with frontend, AI, and product teams to build backend capabilities that enable new product features
- Improve system reliability, performance, and scalability through thoughtful architecture and monitoring
- Move quickly to implement backend improvements, resolve issues, and continuously enhance platform capabilities
Qualifications:
- Strong backend engineering experience building production systems using languages such as Python, Node.js, Go, or similar
- Hands-on experience using AI development tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar to build, debug, or accelerate backend development
- Experience implementing or integrating AI-driven features or services into production systems
- Experience designing and operating scalable APIs and distributed systems
- Experience building or supporting multi-tenant SaaS platforms with secure data isolation
- Strong understanding of database design and data modeling (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)
- Experience working with cloud-based environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, collaborative engineering environment with a strong sense of ownership
- Experience working effectively in remote or distributed engineering teams, with strong communication and ownership of deliverables
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience building systems that integrate AI or machine learning services
- Experience working with search, ranking, or matching systems (e.g., Elasticsearch, vector search)
- Familiarity with recruiting, talent marketplaces, or workflow automation platforms
- Experience designing high-throughput data pipelines or event-driven architectures
- Experience building complex workflow or productivity tools
