An esteemed medical center in Englewood, NJ, is currently seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for OR Coverage. This role involves providing advanced support in our cardiac surgery department, renowned for its excellent care and innovative procedures.
About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: 3+ months
- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts (one week per month)
- Hours: 7am to 5pm (10-hour days)
- Setting: Operating Room, Cardiac Surgery Department
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in complex cardiac surgical procedures, including CABG and valve repair/replacement.
- Serving as first and second assist during surgeries.
- Performing conduit harvesting and endoscopic techniques.
- Suturing and wound care, including dressing changes.
- Participating in on-call rotations as scheduled.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in Cardiac Surgery
- Bachelor's Degree
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or a Master's Degree for Nurse Practitioners
- NJ PA license and NCCPA certification and/or NJ NP license with RNFA certification
- Proficiency in EPIC EMR systems
- Strong clinical judgment and manual dexterity
- Excellent ability to perform under pressure
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to quality improvement initiatives
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
Desired Skills:
- 1+ year of Cardiac Surgery experience
- Master's Degree preferred
- Experience with Conduit Vein Harvesting
