A health services network in North Carolina is actively seeking a licensed Psychiatrist to join their inpatient mental health facility in Forsyth County on a Part-time basis.
About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: 3+ month
- Schedule: Part-time
- Hours: 8am to 4pm
- Setting: Inpatient Adult Mental Health
- Patient population: 18+ for acute care
Responsibilities:
- Complete daily rounding and timely documentation on assigned patients
- Collaborative approach with multidisciplinary treatment team that includes providers, nursing, therapy and support staff
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including interviews, physical exams, and reviewing medical histories to diagnose disorders
- Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans using medications (psychotropics) and various therapies
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications, evaluating treatment effectiveness
- Work closely with nurses, therapists, social workers, and other specialists to provide integrated care
- Manage acute psychiatric crises, ensuring patient safety
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely clinical records
- Contribute to discharge planning and recommend follow-up care
Qualifications:
- Active North Carolina Medical Doctor (MD) license
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Psychiatry
Desired Skills:
- 2 years of Psychiatric / Mental Health experience
